Tenth Street Historic District
The Tenth Street Historic District is one of the only remaining intact Freedman's Towns in the nation, settled by freed slaves after the Civil War. Its modest folk and vernacular homes date from the late 1800s to the early 1900s, and Elizabeth Chapel was established there in 1880.
